Meet Our Coaches
Jeffery Ofoedu
Played college basketball at UC Riverside.
Players rooted with the core elements of the game of basketball, enables players to enter any basketball context and be effective.
Player development is about growth, understanding weak-points and how they can be refined.
While giving guidance to players according to where they are at, whether a beginner, intermediate or advanced: there are always steps a player can take from where they are currently at to become a better player.
If a player can be taught the game of basketball and understand it for themselves, then that player can have an internal confidence of their capabilities on the court.
Coaching a player to develop their skillset is about understanding the journey which the particular player is to go through and how they can effectively do so from every point across the way, so that player’s individual goals can be met.
Charles Deng
My basketball career started when I was 9 years old playing for Werribee domestic, improving every year eventually moving to the rep level playing for 5-6 gaining experience from multiple strong clubs. Hard work eventually paid off making the jump into Victorian youth championship league (VYCM) for Keilor thunder going into my third season of Big V.
When I coach
I stress the importance of hard work, being focused and simulating game situations during sessions. How I see it, playing both ends of the floor, putting in 120% effort and having elite defence can help you reach your goals of either, making the ‘pros or just to simply get better as a player and gain more self-confidence.
I pride my game through being a great ball handle/ playmaker, having strong defence no matter my matchup and having elite basketball IQ. At the next level anyone can be a great scorer, but you must have something that makes you stand out from the rest, can you shut down your man on defence? Or can you run your team’s offense in an efficient matte, things like that will get you more mins on the court.
